Kinross owns and operates the Kupol mine and Dvoinoye project in Russian Far East, and has offices in Moscow and Magadan. Kinross is the largest foreign gold mining company operating in Russia.
Located in Russia's Chukotka region, Kinross' underground Kupol mine produced its two millionth ounce of gold in 2011. With a long and successful history in Russia, Kinross provides strong economic and social support to indigenous people in the region through employment, contractor and supplier purchases, and local community initiatives.
The high-grade Dvoinoye deposit is located approximately 100 kilometres north of Kupol and is one of Kinross' top priority growth projects. Kinross plans to transport Dvoinoye ore to the Kupol mill for processing, with commissioning of ore targeted for the second half of 2013.
Kupol and Dvoinoye offer many employment opportunities for technical mining talent.
