Tasiast is a cornerstone asset for the company, located in a highly prospective greenstone belt in north-western Mauritania, approximately 300 kilometres north of the capital Nouakchott.
The existing operation consists of an open pit mine and an 8,000 tonne per day processing plant. The company has also undertaken a feasibility study to explore the potential for building a new, 38,000 tonne per day mill.
